- S: Hebrews 2:14-15 [MSG]
- O: Christ saved us by taking control of Death away from the Devil. He did this by experiencing death Himself.
- A: On the cross, they mocked Him. They challenged Him to save Himself, as if by failing to meet the challenge He would prove their argument for them and disprove Himself as the Son of God. Jesus, who with God created all things, could surely have saved Himself on that cross. But His purpose on the cross was not to prove Himself, or even to save Himself. He was sent to the cross to save each and every one of us from sin. The wages of sin is Death, and to save us from that Death, God -- through His Son Jesus Christ -- experienced death on the cross. Ending Satan's hold on Death and saving us from sin, Jesus rose from the grave and conquered Death, once and for all time.
- P: What is there to say but Thank You, Lord, for making the ultimate sacrifice so that my price has already been paid. For giving me the gift of Salvation.
