BOOK REVIEW: Admit The Horse by P.G. Abeles

A very well written account (more fact than fiction) of what SHOULD be the most controversial Presidential election in our nation's history (moreso, even, than the election of George W. Bush in 2000). In "Admit The Horse," Abeles weaves the story that the mainstream media refused to report as it happened: the story of an inexperienced community organizer's rise to the highest office in the land, and all of the tactics of questionable legality that helped him to get there.

The story is both colorful and matter-of-fact. It reads like an oral history of current events, as it probably should, given that the author was there through much of the inspiration of the tale.

At this time when we have a second chance to hope for real change in the upcoming election ... and the candidate "O" finally has a record to run on (albeit not a very successful one) ... this book should be required reading for every registered voter before going to the polls this November.

A fantastic telling of a fantastic story that. I highly recommend it.

Representative Deal:

I want to applaud you for having the courage to stand up for country above all else in calling for Mr. Obama to settle the eligibility issue once and for all. This is clearly a matter that Chief Justice Roberts and his team may never get to decide -- whether by their own choice or not -- and a matter that must be settled. What this country needs is more Representatives who are willing to stand up for that which matters most -- the sovereignty of this great nation.

This is not a matter of getting Mr. Obama out of office. It is a matter of ensuring that he is eligible to hold the office.

Thank You, sir.

Patriot Humor: ObamaCare

What could possibly go wrong with ObamaCare:

The phone rings and the lady of the house answers, "Hello?"

"Mrs. Sanders, please."

"Speaking."

"Mrs. Sanders, this is Dr. Jones at St. Agnes Laboratory. When your husband's doctor sent his biopsy to the lab last week, a biopsy from another Mr. Sanders arrived as well. We are now uncertain which one belongs to your husband. Frankly, either way the results are not too good."

"What do you mean?" Mrs. Sanders asks nervously.

"Well, one of the specimens tested positive for Alzheimer's and the other one tested positive for HIV. We can't tell which is which."

"That's dreadful! Can you do the test again?" questioned Mrs. Sanders.

"Normally we can, but the new health care system will only pay for these expensive tests just one time."

"Well, what am I supposed to do now?"

"The folks at Obama health care recommend that you drop your husband off somewhere in the middle of town. If he finds his way home, don't sleep with him."

The Balloonist

Patriot HumorFound this in The Patriot Post:

The balloonist

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

"She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be an Obama Democrat."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's my fault."

My Obama Presidency Predictions *UPDATE*

I was reviewing the predictions I made about an Obama presidency. Interesting to see what has occurred in just six months. If you think he hasn't accomplished much, stop kidding yourself!

Should Barack Obama fulfill four years as President of the United States, I believe we're going to see some interesting and some very troubling things throughout his Presidency. These are my predictions:

  • Republicans will regain control of the Senate in a huge landslide in 2010. The Democratic majority in the House of Representatives will narrow so much (in 2010) as to make it an insignificant majority. {REMAINS TO BE SEEN}
  • Barack Obama will make several token appointments (or offers of appointments) to Republicans and/or Independents in an attempt to cross party lines (thinking of the 2012 re-election campaign). Most (if not all) of those bi-partisan appointments will resign before the midterm elections. {Some token appts, such as the SECDEF, have been made. The resignations are yet to come.}
  • Barack Obama will speak about making amendments to the Constitution early in his Presidency. Congress might even concur and support prior to midterms, but the states will not vote to ratify.
  • Barack Obama's first budget proposal will include federal funding for stem cell research, federal funding to help unwed mothers pay for abortion procedures, federal funding to schools for sex education programs and contraception programs (he'll describe it as a program intended to reduce teen pregnancy) as well as contraception programs for low income women.
  • Obama's tax cut plan for the middle class will be lost among tax increases to fund increased spending and his plan to increase taxes on the wealthy to provide credits to the poor. The middle class will never see a tax cut under an Obama Presidency. {Okay, I was wrong here. We should all be taking home about $13 more a week. Whatever.}
  • We will find ourselves in an energy crisis similar to the Carter years, as Obama will refuse to drill offshore, will tax coal companies into near oblivion, and the country's reliance upon foreign oil will become crippling. {Gas prices are on the rise again.}
  • America will return to an Affirmative Action state, with preferential employment for blacks and hispanics mandated and enforced through tax credits and penalties. Whites will begin to become the oppressed class.
  • Obama will push legislation providing even more protection to the credit unworthy than the Community Reinvestment Act. This plan will include protection for credit card borrowers, added mortgage protection for struggling homeowners, and socialized medicine. If acted upon before the midterm election, the bill will see several rewrites in both houses of Congress and the final version will include protection from credit card debt, mortgage debt, and medical debt, but will fall short of instituting socialized medicine. {Socialized medicine is next on the agenda.}
  • Early in an Obama administration, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will announce her resignation. With a Democrat controlled Congress, Obama will nominate an extreme liberal to replace her on the bench, and Congress will confirm her nomination (yes, a woman, and likely a black or hispanic woman) quickly. Justice John Paul Stevens will either die or fall seriously ill and be forced to retire from the bench, resulting in a second speedily confirmed Obama liberal to the bench. The repercussions will be felt for decades. {I'm sure Sotomayor will be nominated quickly by Harry Reid and his cronies.}
  • The now liberal government will attempt to prosecute President Bush and Vice President Cheney for war crimes. {I think the verdict is still out on that one, but releasing documents from the Bush administration is a clear first step toward prosecution.}
  • As more states enact legislation legalizing gay marriage, the Supreme Court will refuse to hear suits to ban it, resulting in gay marriage sweeping the nation on the state level. I would expect to see additional vacancies to the Supreme Court result in more liberal appointments and further Court action to legalize gay marriage on a national level.
  • Private schools and home schooling will suffer greatly under the weight of mandated sex education, to include education that homosexuality is normal and okay. Home schoolers will go underground and faith based private schools will be forced to comply or be shut down. Public education will become over-crowded due to the lack of private schools and home schooling issues, resulting in poor education across the country.
  • Obama will attempt to fulfill his campaign promise on the Iraq war and will attempt to withdraw troops within 17 months. The progress of redeployment will be halted as terrorist elements will stage a dual attack on American troops in Iraq and on American soil. Obama will be forced to return redeployed troops to the region to restabilize Iraq and the middle east, and will order National Guard units to deploy on American soil in response to the attacks here. Martial Law will be all but officially declared in the new ground zero.
  • Obama will attempt to fulfill his promise of negotiations without pre-condition and will meet with unsavory foreign leaders on their own soil. He will suffer an attempt on his life but will receive medical treatment from US military in Iraq and will survive. He will suffer injuries that result in permanent disabilities. Obama's response will be that such an attempt would not have happened had we met with Iran, Korea, and Russia during President Bush's administration. {Remember the pictures of Obama with Hugh Chavez, etc.?}
I could go on and on, but it will only begin to sound more spectacular. I think we will see much more than we can even imagine at this point in American history. Most importantly, after the Republicans resume some parity (and possibly control) in Congress, we will see a Republican President returned to the White House in 2012. Much of the damage caused by an Obama administration will take several decades to reverse as a liberal Supreme Court will continue to legislate their liberal agenda from the bench.

It will be at least a generation before we see one party control of the Executive and Legislative branches again.

F.O.R.D. - The "Acronym" Has A New Meaning

FordThere was a time not so long ago when I called myself a "Buick Man." You know, a guy that prefers a particular make of vehicle is a "Chevy Man," or "Ford Man," etc. Well, I was a "Buick Man." Some of the best cars I've ever owned were Buicks. And some of the worst cars I've ever owned were Fords. I would never have referred to myself as a "Ford Man," regardless of the fact that my father is a staunch "Ford Man."

GM
But the parent corporation of Buick, General Motors, has gone through some very significant changes over the past four months. Changes that, for one, I find quite disturbing. Changes that would have William C. Durant, founder of General Motors Corporation and pioneer of the Buick badge, rolling in his grave. Changes such as GM CEO Rick Wagoner resigning at the request of Barack Obama. PontiacChanges like the Pontiac Division of General Motors being scrapped as part of the Obama-forced restructuring plan intended to keep the struggling automaker from going out of business. OldsmobileIt wasn't that long ago that General Motors dropped the Oldsmobile badge from their lineup for good, and the demise of the Pontiac line -- home of the famed GTO and Grand Prix -- has many car fans crying foul. As General Motors has announced the expected demise of both the Saturn and Hummer lines as well, American roads may never be the same.

ChryslerThe latest reports in this seemingly never-ending auto collapse is that Chrysler will be filing (and may have already done so by now) for bankruptcy, as they were unable to come to terms with many creditors. FiatBut bankruptcy isn't the only news for Chrysler. The American car company that for a brief period was held by Germany's Daimler-Benz before being spun off due to lagging sales may once again become a foreign company, as the Obama administration (for reasons I simply cannot understand) is forcing the number three U.S. automaker to strike a merger deal with Italian company Fiat. The bankruptcy and Fiat deal earn Chrysler an additional eight hundred billion dollars of American taxpayer money from the Obama administration to help them emerge as a stronger car company. A foreign car company, but stronger (maybe).

As a long-time "Buick Man," I find myself struggling with the current situation of the American auto industry. I have never owned a Chrysler product, and never will. For many reasons, most recent of which is the company's willingness to be taken over by the U.S. government. Which is the same reason that I can no longer consider myself a "Buick Man." As sad as it is to turn my back on this auto badge that I have long admired, I must say that, going forward, I guess I'm a "Ford Man" like my father.

Why? For the same reason that I didn't vote for the man who currently resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I'm not an Obama man.

O MotorsSeems to me that not only is the Pontiac line dying, but also the entire General Motors Corporation, as well as Chrysler. Seems to me that they should just replace the badge on almost every vehicle to roll out of Detroit to Obama Motors. After all, the federal government owns more of General Motors than anyone else now, and soon Italy will own most of Chrysler.

But Ford, God love them, made the tough decision to get through these tough times on their own cash reserves. Found On the Road Dead is no longer the best way to describe the Ford brand. The FORD "acronym" has a new meaning.

Random Thoughts...

Random thoughts I've had lately.

My new book is available, and as I work on recording the Audiobook version of it, I find myself running across several things that I think I could have done just a little differently. Ways that I could have expanded the story. I remind myself constantly that I was working under the strict timeline of National Novel Writing Month while I wrote it, but I didn't have such a deadline while I edited it and prepared it for publication. I could have taken just a bit more time to do a better rewrite of the book.

It's my first book, and I'll have to be happy with it. I plan to start writing the sequel in May -- when any deadlines I have will be self-imposed and, therefore, flexible. I have some great ideas for the sequel, and feel that the storyline really has some great places to go in book two.

Speaking of books (and this post will be about more than books, but while I'm on the topic...), I'm enjoying a reread of Dean Koontz's Frankenstein saga, as I eagerly anticipate the arrival of the third book in the tale. I had to order the third book from Amazon.co.uk, as the book doesn't appear to have any planned release date in the U.S. yet. It's a sad thing, really, as I know that many, many readers are eager to learn what happens next to Deucalion and Victor Helios.

Stay tuned for my review -- I expect the book to arrive sometime in mid to late April.

Presidential SealI've been paying a slight bit of attention to the many ways in which (I think) Barack Obama is screwing up America. I've been watching, and I've been wondering why, as a country, we allow the person holding the highest office in the land to run for reelection. I find myself wondering if much of what Barack Obama does is designed to earn himself reelection.

It seems that from the moment a President takes the Oath of Office, he is running for reelection. Then, upon winning reelection, the moment he takes his second Oath of Office, he is considered a Lame Duck because someone else is already running to succeed him. It seems to me that our government would be much more effective and efficient if we immediately eliminated the possibility of reelection for our President and lengthened his only term to six years. This would enable the man elected to be the leader of the free world to actually do what is best for the country without fear of polls and second terms.

In addition, I think we should immediately enact term limits for the Senate and the House of Representatives. We have men and women (I could name some, but I won't) in Washington right now that have served in the Senate for so long that they are beholden to too many people to actually be effective. I voted for John McCain for President, but frankly, he needs to leave the Senate. Instead, he is already running for reelection on the heels of his failed White House bid and two years before his term is up.

Highway TrafficOver the past week or two, it seems that my commute to work has been quite dangerous. Traffic on Indy's Interstate 70 can be quite dense at times, but lately it seems that cars are moving at sixty and seventy miles per hour with mere feet between them and the cars that surround them.

I'm also starting to think that my car is invisible. It seems that other motorists frequently decide to place their car where mine is, whether I want them to or not. At least once a morning I find that if I don't stay alert and nimble, I'm likely to be (literally) pushed aside. Come on, people, can we really be in such a hurry all the time?

MoneyAnd one more thing, and I think this one could be a product of the way our country has been headed over the past two months or so. What is it with everyone who expects everyone else to pay the price for their mistakes? I'm not just talking about things like bankruptcy and welfare, or panhandling (which has become even more common in Indianapolis recently). At work, I find people who come in and expect my company to actually help them to pay for services that they have to pursue elsewhere because we are unable to provide them. People who have actually tried to falsely claim that my company was responsible for damage to their property -- and when called on the carpet about it, they don't even apologize for their deception after confessing their guilt.

Come on, America! What is happening to us? Is this really what we want to become? A nation of people who would rather sit back and let others do for us? There is a billboard in Indianapolis for Citizens Gas that shows a picture of a Black (is that politically correct now?) woman saying, "What are you doing to lower my gas bills?" Really?!? I see that stupid billboard every morning on my way to work (maybe that's what is distracting other drivers as they cut me off), and every morning I answer, "How about turning down the stinking thermostat!" Really, whose responsibility is it? I manage my utility bills by managing my utility use. That's the way I was brought up. Not thinking that someone else was going to foot the bill for me!

So Help Me God

SOAPSOAP {Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer}:
FOR TODAY'S FULL READING, CLICK THE TITLE LINK ABOVE | ABOUT SOAP
Obama Oath
SCRIPTURE
16 “You’re hopeless! What arrogant stupidity! You say, ‘If someone makes a promise with his fingers crossed, that’s nothing; but if he swears with his hand on the Bible, that’s serious.’ 17 What ignorance! Does the leather on the Bible carry more weight than the skin on your hands? 18 And what about this piece of trivia: ‘If you shake hands on a promise, that’s nothing; but if you raise your hand that God is your witness, that’s serious’? 19 What ridiculous hairsplitting! What difference does it make whether you shake hands or raise hands? 20 A promise is a promise. What difference does it make if you make your promise inside or outside a house of worship? A promise is a promise. God is present, watching and holding you to account regardless.
MATTHEW 23:16-22 [MSG]

OBSERVATION
The official swearing in of a President is nothing more than a display for the masses. For God, just saying "I promise" is commitment enough.

APPLICATION
This past week, Barack Obama took the oath of office. Twice. It was botched the first time -- both by Obama and Chief Justice Roberts -- and it was determined by someone that the oath should be repeated, just for the sake of being legal and binding.

Interesting, isn't it? That Obama (or one or more of his Advisors, possibly), felt it prudent for Obama to repeat his promise to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, because the words didn't come out smoothly and perfectly in some pre-defined order the first time.

It is even rumored that when Obama took his oath the second time, there was no Bible used. In fact, pictures of Obama being re-sworn show him with his right hand raised while his left hand -- instead of resting on a Bible -- hangs limp to his side. Some would have us think that this is a travesty -- that swearing, but not doing it on the Bible, makes it meaningless.

Jesus Himself said that raising our hand, or placing it on a Bible, do nothing to make a promise more binding than the mere word of the promise. A promise is a promise, whether your hand is placed on the leather surface of the Bible, or an open passage in the Bible, or hanging limply at your side, or stuffed in a pocket, or holding a corn dog. A promise is a promise, whether you raise your right hand, twiddle your thumbs, or pick your nose with it. The fact that Barack Obama swore to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States is all that is needed for God to hold him to account for living up to that promise. Because no matter what Obama does over the next four years, he will one day have to answer to God for it.

If that's good enough for God, it's good enough for me, so help me God.

PRAYER
Father, I pray that Mister Obama will live up to the promise he made during his oath of office. While he has made many promises I hope he breaks, some are so critical that breaking them could mean disaster for our country. I trust You, Lord, to hold the man accountable for his actions.

Obama Violates Your Civil Rights

One of the first acts of Barack Obama after taking his second oath of office (not for his second term, but because the first one was botched) was to violate your civil rights. One day after the anniversary of the Roe vs Wade decision that legalized abortion, Barack Obama signed an Executive Order that ended federal funding restrictions on abortion.

Barack Obama signed a memorandum Friday that ends a prohibition on supplying federal family-planning funds and contraceptives to international aid groups that provide abortions, abortion referrals or abortion counseling.

In other words, as an American taxpayer, a portion of my income (withheld in the name of federal taxes) can now be used to help international aid groups promote and fund abortion, something I am strongly opposed to as a follower of Christ.

The report quotes Obama:

"I have directed my staff to reach out to those on all sides of this issue to achieve the goal of reducing unintended pregnancies," Obama said.

I can tell you how to reduce unintended pregnancies, and it won't cost you a penny -- don't engage in the act that results in pregnancy if you aren't prepared to deal with the potential consequences.

The report quotes Representative Eric Cantor of Virginia, the House Republican Whip , as saying:

"During his campaign, the president expressed a desire to keep abortions rare," and signing the order "stands in stark contrast to that goal."

By ending restrictions to fund abortion, Barack Obama has made abortion more widely available than at any time over the past eight years. The last President to allow federal funding for abortion was Bill Clinton. Both Bush Presidencies, as well as President Reagan, publicly valued life above all else and refused to fund abortion in this manner. By signing this order, Barack Obama has made the Democrats the party of death.

I call on all of my fellow Conservatives -- and even those who just don't like the thought of killing unborn babies -- to stand up for what is right and vote for life in 2012. That's a long time from now, and many, many lives will be lost between now and then because of this order. But just as Barack Obama has initiated the potential murder of tens (possibly hundreds) of thousands with the stroke of a pen, we can save thousands of future lives with the cast of a ballot.

I just wish we could file a class action lawsuit against Barack Obama for violating our civil rights. He has violated my right to freedom of expression and freedom of religion by mandating that I help to fund abortion through my federal taxes.

God have mercy on his soul!

My Inaugural Prayer

prayerFather, today marks a pivotal moment in American history. In just a few short hours, a man will be sworn in as the forty-fourth President of the United States that is unlike any President before him. In many more ways than just race.

This man rocketed to the top of the political ladder through the Chicago political machine, Lord, and has had regular dealings with people of questionable character. He himself, according to many, is a man of questionable character. In fact, Lord, he is a man of questionable citizenship.

My prayer, Father, as we embark upon the next four years (at least, and hopefully no more) of the Obama era, is that I am completely wrong about this person. I pray that he is not the socialist that he appears to be; that he does not have the impact he has stated he would have on abortion; that he does not receive the chance to Robin Hood his way into the history books through his share-the-wealth schemes; that he does not turn tail and run from Iraq into Afghanistan, leaving behind an unstable fledgling democracy to fail.

I pray, Lord, that he is not the scheming charlatan that he has appeared to be to those who have not been blinded by his charisma. I pray that the reasons he refuses to present his birth certificate for public scrutiny are not because it wouldn't pass muster. I pray that the birth of the Obama era might not coincide with the death of the United States Constitution.

Lord, I pray that I'm wrong about this man, and that America won't struggle for decades after he leaves office to repair the damage he could so easily cause.

God bless America is so much more than a meaningless phrase right now, Father. It is a fervent prayer.

God, please bless America!

AMEN

The Birth Certificate Controversy

This is the document Mr. Obama presented as "proof" of his status as a natural born American citizen:

birth certification

This is what the state of Hawaii issues when a child is born in the state of Hawaii:

birth certificate
As should be readily apparent, the Certification (which Obama supplied) and the Certificate (which Obama has thus far refused to release) are very different documents. The Certification of Live Birth—also called a "short form"—contains limited information and is typically printed when an individual makes a requests it.

The Hawaii Certificate of Live Birth—on the other hand—contains information that can be easily and readily investigated—information that could immediately answer one of the main questions surrounding Obama's constitutional eligibility.

We would know the name of the hospital or facility (we presently do not), where Obama was born and the name of the attending physician or midwife. Following-up on that kind of clear-cut information could put the controversy to rest.

Then again, changes to the original certificate would also be apparent. And, if that were the case, it could be a problem for Obama. Reasonable people would first ask WHY changes were made and IF the changes were legitimate.

Discrepancies between an individual's original birth certificate and the certification of live birth could exist for a variety of reasons—legitimate, erroneous or even fraudulent.

If President-elect Obama is unwilling or unable to prove that he is constitutionally qualified to hold the office of President of the United States then every action he takes as President is open to legal challenge.

--From WorldNet Daily and the United States Justice Foundation
It is not jumping to conclusions or smearing Mr. Obama to ask for proof that he is eligible to serve in the office to which he was elected. I personally don't care if he serves as President (we will survive, I'm sure), as long as he is legally eligible to serve. If he is not legally eligible and is inaugurated on January 20, the Constitutional crisis that follows will dwarf anything this country has faced in its 232 year history.

The Day The Constitution Died

You've no doubt heard of The Day The Music Died. Well, today could very well become known as The Day The Constitution Died.

Supreme Court turns down case challenging Obama's citizenship
New Jersey man claimed Obama was not a 'natural born citizen' and could not be president

 Tribune Washington bureau
10:36 AM EST, December 8, 2008

The Supreme Court today turned down an emergency appeal asking the justices to consider whether President-elect Barack Obama is a "natural born citizen," and thereby, eligible to become president.

Read the full story here .

I'm just discouraged that the Supreme Court would ignore this issue, rather than hearing it and putting the matter to rest one way or the other.
