Mitch Daniels Now "Open" to 2012 Presidential Run

Mitch DanielsFrom Washington Post: Daniels said he has had a number of conversations in recent months, "none initiated by me," where the question of a 2012 campaign came up. "Just to get them off my back, I agreed to a number of people that I will now stay open to the idea," he said. ...

"From now to a year-plus from now, that's all I'm going to do," he said. "And if these people are still around, and still not fully satisfied with the field, and if I don't see anybody who's raising what I think of as the survival issues for the country, I guess I'd listen, if it's not too late, which it might well be. I've told people if it's too late, so be it."

I can't think of anything better that could happen to America in 2012. He's a proven leader, with proven results. None of that hopenchange bull so many fell for two years ago.

An Evening With Mitch

I received the following email this morning. Governor Daniels, who is in his last term and refuses to say that he could be a contender for national office in 2012, is appearing at an event to raise funds for his Aiming Higher PAC.

This PAC appears to have been formed between Governor Daniels' first election to office and his first inauguration, and the homepage of the site has not been updated since.

To me, this is one more indication for hope that Indiana's Governor will run for higher office in 2012.

Mitch Daniels 2012

Book ReviewI find it interesting that, just two days ago, the following video was added to YouTube by the Mitch Daniels 2008 Reelection (Indiana Governor) campaign. If you aren't familiar with Mitch Daniels and Indiana, he won election in 2008 by a very large margin, and the following video was a very early video from his reelection campaign.

What I find interesting is that, if Mitch is firm about not running for President in 2012, why would he want to focus on and remind people on his hugely successful campaigns (2004 and 2008), and his real live interaction with the people? Sorry, Mitch, but I'm still not convinced that you won't be running in 2012.

Looking Toward 2012

Though at the end of this video, it says PAID FOR AND APPROVED BY MITCH DANIELS, is certainly isn't. It is, however, indicative of what many Hoosiers feel would be a good thing in 2012: Mitch Daniels for President.

Though Mitch has already said that he won't run for elected office again, with the positive change he has implemented in Indiana over the past four years, he would surely be a strong candidate for the GOP in 2012.
